my main man herbert lom who passed away this week and played organ in at least three films: the pink panther strikes again, 20000 leagues under the sea and most importantly the 1962 version of the phantom of the opera, which has forged in the public imagination an indelible connection between the bach piece we heard tonight and the beautiful, tragic story of the phantom
